7 Total Knee Replacement Surgeries Conducted Free of Cost out of the 20 During Mega Multi Speciality Camp in Kargil

In Ladakh, during the Mega Multi Speciality Camp organised by Al Reza Health Care and Research Foundation (ARHC&RF) and District Hospital Kargil, a total of 20 Total Knee replacements (TKR) Surgeries were performed free of cost.
7 TKR implants were donated, out of which, the expenses for 5 knee implants worth Rs 5 lakh was donated by Dr. Azam Badar Khan on behalf of his his NGO " Let's Walk Again" and 2 Implants worth 1 lakh and 70 thousand rupees donated by AL-REZA HC & RF.
Dr Azam Khan while talking to the Media said
"Kargil District hospital needs a dedicated ' Knee Section' in view of the increased number of people with Knee joint problems in this mountainous terrain".
He also said, " It is my motive to ensure that a fully functional Knee Section be established at Kargil District Hospital, as a pay back to my Country and my people".
He donated the 5 implants to those patients who couldnt afford even the minimum price for this surgery.
He wishes to continue to focus on helping such section of the society in Kargil in future as well.
He further said that Prime Hospital, Dubai, where he is currently based , is one of the leading Healthcare Providers in the UAE, will be coming up with a full-fledged Health Education Module with Alreza and LAHDC Kargil.
A meeting was held with CEC LAHDC Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan by the team of Prime Hospital Led by Dr Azam Khan along with Dr Asiya Nabi to discuss the processes required for implementation of this module.
He added that, his heart's desire was to help the needy patients and to pass on his knowledge and skills of Knee Replacement Surgery to the Local Doctors.
He supervised Dr. Ahmad Ali and Dr. Shujat to perform one Knee Replacement Surgery each during this camp.
